20200819-Red-tailed Hawk-1
On Wednesday August 19th Soarin’ Hawk received a call from Amy Hartzell at Black Pines Sanctuary in Albion. It was about a red tail hawk that had been brought to the sanctuary by a gentleman who had found it on the side of the road. When I got there to pick it up Amy commented she was more alert than when it had first been dropped off an hour and half previous. We were able to transfer from one carrier to another without incident; she did seem to favor her left leg and would not stand on it. I took it to our treatment facility for evaluation 08/20/2020 We were unable to find any issues with this adult hawk. It may have been stunned by a car strike. We are giving it fluids and medications. We will keep it under observation 08/22/2020 this hawk has been moved to our rehabilitation facility
