20250905-Red-Tailed Hawk-1

One lucky bird in the young and dumb club!  On October 10th, Ross E. was able to meet with Cathy T., the original caller, and her Mom at the original site of the rescue.  A small grove of mature Oak trees was surrounded by corn and soybean fields, and on a dirt road, made it the ideal spot to release this yearling bird.  This hawk was a little overwhelmed by the 1-hour-long drive and the sudden open sky.  It surveyed its surroundings from the ground for at least 5 minutes before a strong flight to one of the nearby trees. 

9/5/2025 - Red-Tailed Hawk was transported to the ICU for treatment and observation.
