History

12/21/2023 A Good Samaritan brought this Red Shouldered Hawk directly to Soarin’ Hawk.  This is what she told us:

“We saw the hawk get clipped by a car, then she was just sitting by the side of the road. We watched her for about 20 minutes and then slowly tried to approach her. She tried to fly away from us but couldn’t, so we drove home and got the box. She tried again to fly away when we were approaching her the second time but couldn’t get off the ground. Surprisingly she didn’t try to resist too much when I finally got close enough to put her in the box.”

The hawk was checked out by our triage team and X-rays were taken which showed a coracoid fracture (like our collarbone).  We are hoping the fracture will heal.
