9/8/2023 - Bird succumbed to injuries and passed away overnight in the cage

This owl was brought in Thursday morning (9/7/2023) during the morning ICU shift. Bird was picked up and transported to our facility by Haley of Galveston,IN. Haley reported that the owl was found sitting on the ground and wouldn’t fly. Haley also stated bird didn’t move out of the rain. Bird was triaged and found to be emancipated. We treated with medication to keep the owl comfortable, including fluid therapy. Owl was placed in the incubator.
