20211227-Eastern Screech Owl-1

Today Greta found a Screech owl on West Main Street in Pleasant Lake, IN. She left, then returned and found the bird under a bush.  She contacted Soarin' Hawk and Lana recovered the bird. The owl had diarrhea, but appeared alert and fiesty. Keel score 3+. The bird was transported to our I.C.U. for triage.   The bird was found to have to have a bloody right eye. It was treated for pain until the eye healed. It was released in Steuben County on 01/03/2022 after proving it could fly and find food.
