20210521-Eastern Screech Owl-1

A caller reported a baby owl down on ground. The owl is a nestling eastern screech owl I transported to ICU for evaluation and treatment. There is a possibility that this owl has an injurred wing. It will be further examined by our veterinary staff to determine if any further  treatment is needed 06/04/21 This young owl is doing well. It has been paired with another young eastern screech owl for companionship. They are both doing well and eating on their own. It is just a matter of waiting for them to grow enough to be released 08/02/21 This owl is well and healthy but we cannot get either one of these young owls to pass a live prey test. We have moved an adult owl in with them in the hopes it might teach them how to hunt. But it doesn't seem to be working at the moment
