20201004-Barred Owl-1

This young owl was seen standing along the side of the road. Completely soaked. The rescuer picked it up and called our rescue line. He graciously offered to bring it from Huntington to our treatment facility in Huntertown. This appears to be a young owl with head trauma and blood it its righ eye and some possible nerve damage to its right leg. We began treatment immediately . We treated its eye injuries and gave it fluids to help stabalize it and medication for pain . We always hope for the best for our injured birds 10/11/2020 This owl has vision issues which we are treating. sometimes this is caused by head trauma and subsequent swelling. If this is the case their vision can return but this bird's condition is guarded 10/24/2020 This owl has been moved to our rehabilitation facility
