20191224-Eastern Screech Owl-1

The caller to our Soarin Hawk rescue line stated that they found this red phase Eastern Screech Owl in the road near their home. One of our volunteers picked it up and brought it to our treatment facility for evaluation. It has an injury to its left eye but further evaluation will be done by our veterinary staff. 12/29/19 This owl appears to have just the eye injury. It is starting to eat on its own. It is continuing treatment for pain 1/5/2020 Treatment has been completed for this owl and it has been moved to our rehabilitation facility 02/02/2020 It has been determined that this owl is non-releasable. Our placement coordinator has found a facility for it to be transferred to. 03/02/2020 This owl's status remains the same
