20191014 Barred Owl - 1
This afternoon Lana received a call from a friend who had rescued a barred owl. Kim had been notified of an owl along S.R. 9 at U.S. 6 and had it contained before notifying Lana. Lana met Kim at U.S. 6 and I-69. Lana transported the bird to Auburn where she met Kat. Kat transported the owl to Dr. Funnel for triage. The owl was found to have OD hyphema, flat flies, and mouth flukes. 10/22/2019 This owl's xrays were normal so treatment continues for its eye injuries. It is slowly starting to eat on its own. 10/29/19 Eye treatment continues for this owl. It is eating well on its own. It will remain in our treatment facility 11/3/19 This owl has improved enough for it to be moved to our rehabilitation facility 12/15/19 The veterinary staff has determined this owl is non releasable due to its vision issue 1/5/2020 The status of this bird has not changed 02/02/2020 The status for this owl remains unchanged 03/02/2020 Our placement coordinator has found a possible permanent home for this guy 04/05/2020 This owl's status remains the same 05/05/2020 This owl's status remains the same 06/01/2020 This owl now has a permanent home. It will be moving to Wildhearts African Farm in Dayton ,OH
