20190704-American Kestrel - 1

The Hawkphone received a call about a young kestrel on the ground in Churubusco.  Autumn, the homeowner, had been mowing the lawn and found the bird in the tall grass.  She picked it up and it made no effort to escape.  She put it in a cage and it could not stand.  The bird was taken to ICU. 07/07/19 This young Kestrel is improving but it is not eating on its own yet. We have been hand feeding it but it ultimately needs to be able to eat without our help 07/12/19 This feisty little kestrel has finally started eating some food on his own 07/20/19 This Kestrel has improved so much that he is now at the Rehabilitation pens 08/14/19 This young Kestrel has been moved to a Hack Box in anticipation of its release
