20181029-Red-tailed Hawk - 1
History
This red-tailed hawk was found in Angola, IN. It is assumed to have been hit by a car. It had some vision problems and a fractured pelvis. It was treated with medication for pain and an antibiotic. Pelvic fractures cannot be wrapped or casted because of the location if the fracture. They usually resolve on their own. Amazingly he was perching in 2 days. He was hand fed for a few days until he started eating on his own. His vision issue resolved on its own also. He was moved to our rehabilitation facility after 4 weeks.
